My Fibo 1.2 motor stopped functioning Err 2) while fine tuning a sat position. Any one got a spare with reed modification?
I am going to open it up and see if anything is repairable. Wish me luck!

Could also be that one of the sensor wires disconnected from motor or even positioner.

Check there is a 5 volt supply from the receiver before going further.

Thanks for the replies. Checked all wires at both ends and even changed to backup positioner. I don't needthe 5 volt any more with the modification.

I extracted the Fibo motor from the mount and motor itself from the casing and connected short leads from the positioner and it worked normally. Next stage was put it back in its case and reconnect the original wires. It still worked. I reattached it to the dish and it worked initially and then back to error 2 again. Pressing on the connecting block for the wires with someone moving the positioner is giving intermittent movement of the motor. there is some crackling noise. I think this narrows down the problem down to the connection between the connection block and the electric motor. I guess the next move is to locate the dry joint or loose wire. At least I am getting somewhere!

I resoldered the power connections on the PCB and all working again. These dishes were built to last and they do not look out of place in the 21st century.!

Pictures of damaged power connection on PCB and Working 1.2m Fibo now 19 years old.
