Does anyone know where I can get a Fibo motor for a Gregorian dish?

Spectrum of Addington (Im not promoting them 2Old) used to claim thay had some but this goes back maybe two years ago

Let me know how you get on, is it the nylon cog thats stripped or the motor thats burnt out ?

I tried Spectrum but they have sold out. I have now found out that Wyre Forest Systems can repair them as he has some spares. The cog and motor are fine but I suspect that the reed switch has gone as when the dish moves (an arbitrary distance)it produces an 'actuator error" message on my Monterey.

Fibo dishes dont have reed switches

They use opto coupling devices inside them

You need to have five wires runing from the motor to the receiver (reed switch units need only four)

Are you certain you havent pulled a wire out ?

It might be worth trying the motor on another receiver (you need a 1permanent voltage supply to drive the circuit out at the dish

Yes, you are right. It does have five wires and I have checked the cable and also changed it. No luck. I have sent the motor to Wyre Forest for repair and hopefully will get it back soon.

I found out about the opto coupling just after I had posted the original message.

Thanks for your assistance!

Buy a new mount, you can fix the Jaeger SMR-1224 to the back of the dish easily, you need to do some drilling on the Jaeger back-plate.
