Beanie suggests that they form their own fraternity in Mitch's new house on a college campus to re-live their glory days by bringing tandether a variety of misfit college students, losers, middle-aged and elderly retirees as their new friends and later try to avoid being evicted by the new Dean of Students, Pritchard, whom still holds a personal grudge against all three of them.

Andie is a writer who works at a woman's magazine but longs to write about something more substantial like politics and the environment but her boss won't let her. Ben works in advertising, and he has suggested to his boss that they go after a diamond merchant, which he agrees but is considering giving to two female employees, Spears and Green, cause he feels that it neeeds the feminine touch. Andie's friend announces at a meeting that she's been dumped, and their boss comes up with the idea of writing an article about how one goes about getting a guy to leave or dump them. Andie agrees to do it on the condition that she be allowed to write what she wants to write and her boss says yes. Now Spears and Green were at the magazine trying to court them to join their agency and hear about Andie's assignment. Later that evening, Ben meets with his boss and the girls and insists that he be allowed to handle the account of the diamond merchant. In the end the girls bet Ben that if he could get a girl to fall in love with him in 10 days, he can handle the account. And the girls pick Andie, who was there looking for her subject, and knowing about her article, they knew that she will do everything possible to turn him off. And she does but Ben endures everything she does, and she finds herself falling for him.

Bang, Bang, You're Dead (2002) (TV)

For the most part it's a tale of a kid, Trevor, who gets picked on a lot a school. Not as much as he used to, because the year before he called in a phony bomb threat complete with a working bomb (minus anything that would actually explode). Because of this parents and teachers are afraid of him, and kids generally avoid him except for a group of outcasts called the "Trands". As violence by the Jocks against the Trands escalates, Trevor is the suspect for anything gone wrong, even though he didn't necessarily do anything. One teacher is willing to give Trevor the benefit of the doubt and casts him in a highly contraversial play about, what else? School shootings. It all comes to a head as some other students create a plan to bring guns to school and kill everyone in the cafeteria.

The War Bride is a beautiful and inspiring drama, beautifully photandraphed, with superb acting and full of personal growth. Lily, an English girl, marries Charlie, a Canadian WWII soldier from northern Alberta, who lives on a "big ranch on the prairies". That sounds good to Lily but when she is sent to Canada for the duration of the war, the reality is very different. She is stuck with a grieving mother-in-law and a crippled sister-in-law, who feed off each others' bitterness and depression. The ranch is an unproductive farm with run-down buildings. Lily is horrified but decides to make the best of it and does very well indeed. If you like this film, then see Cold Comfort Farm (1995), a similar story and an intelligent comedy.

An outsider is needed. Ripley believes that it would be more elegant to have the murder committed by a complete innocent. Jonathan Trevanny is such an innocent who works as a picture framer and lives with his wife Sarah and his son in the Italian village near Ripley's home. Jonathan is also terminally ill and when he is insulted by Trevanny at a party, Ripley sees an advantage. He cons Jonathan into becoming the hitman. And so Jonathan is drawn into Ripley's game.
