Is there any way I could align my dish to 28.2 using an old analogue receiver? I've tried it on 19.2 and it worked. Are there any analogue channels coming from 28.2?
Triple Dragon, Dreambox 8000, Echostar AD3000ip, TBS6522,6925,6983 PCie cards.
Gibertini 1.25m motorised dish driven by the AD3000, with either Inverto BU Quad or Norsat / XMW Ka LNBs . SMW 1.05m + 3 other dishes. Speccy: Promax HD Ranger+
It just indicates the signal strength at the IF output of the LNB, that is the peak amplitude of the 950 - 2150MHz passband. Doesn't matter if the transmissions are digital or analogue.
Well, found the 23e test card no problems, but couldn't find 28.2 by slewing it to the left. The software I'm using TT-media center that came with my sat card shows signal strength for 19.2E and 13E, but not 28.2E. Looks like I will need to buy a signal meter or could I use one of those omnisat compasses to find 28.2?
Well, rather than buy one of those beeping signal meters or an expensive LCD satfinder, I bought a used Amstrad drx400 skydigibox from a local flea market with the yellow house viewing card still in it. Not bad for £15 considering these cards are selling for £20+ on a well known auction site. I hear this is quite a good receiver. Anyway, I'll use it as a signal meter to find 28.2.
