finding 28.2 with analogue receiver

Is there any way I could align my dish to 28.2 using an old analogue receiver? I've tried it on 19.2 and it worked. Are there any analogue channels coming from 28.2?

Why do you think its called "Sky Digital?" :D But you can align onto an analogue testcard on 1D at 23E and slew around a bit further

It just indicates the signal strength at the IF output of the LNB, that is the peak amplitude of the 950 - 2150MHz passband. Doesn't matter if the transmissions are digital or analogue.

Well, found the 23e test card no problems, but couldn't find 28.2 by slewing it to the left. The software I'm using TT-media center that came with my sat card shows signal strength for 19.2E and 13E, but not 28.2E. Looks like I will need to buy a signal meter or could I use one of those omnisat compasses to find 28.2?

28E is so strong you shouldnt have any problem finding it if you have the appropriate frequencies keyed into the eceiver / card software

19e (and 23e, I believe) degrees position is higher than 28e degrees, you'll have to reduce the elevation to find it.

For 28.2, the software defaults to

frequency 10714
symbol rate 22000
polarization H

maybe this is the wrong frequency?

Thats a valid frequency on 28E - its got a few ITV regions on it :D
Well, rather than buy one of those beeping signal meters or an expensive LCD satfinder, I bought a used Amstrad drx400 skydigibox from a local flea market with the yellow house viewing card still in it. Not bad for £15 considering these cards are selling for £20+ on a well known auction site. I hear this is quite a good receiver. Anyway, I'll use it as a signal meter to find 28.2.
