Hi all,
First time user on here but what a great site reading through the topics, I might finally get an answer to the solution I've been looking at for the last year.*
I live in the uk, Im on a 100mb Internet connection and currently have free view TV with a subscription for espn and skysports 1-4 (will be looking into getting a dish if need be) my current setup as follows.
I have a cyclone MkV media player plugged into my TV it is connected to my home network which has a 6tb of storage (currently 4tb worth of films/tv) I am able to watch my VoD.*
When there's a 3pm football match I want to watch I get the stream up on my laptop and use orb live to forward the stream on my ip which the media player will pick up over UPnP which intern ables me to watch on my tv, likewise with the boxing.
But that's only on one tv.
Im looking for a much better solution now which is how I've come across the dreambox.*
This is abit hard to explain so bare with me.*
*I want a main server which can host all my films of my hard drive. Could this broadcast upto 5 five different/or the same*films at once. Also would this broadcast out all the usual tv channels simultaneously*it would be picking up or would it be the same on every tv connected? this isn't to important as the tvs have freeview.
as for getting all football in English how do I go about that? Do these subscription cards I read about work along side a dish or can they be used with cable. If I do need a dish instead of cable, in the mean time would it be possible to on the day add a channel on my server with a link to one of the web-streams and broadcast it that way.
As for the tvs there will be five in total how would these connect, must all be done over network, that way I could access it at my 2nd location. Would a smart tv work or is it best to get individual topboxes.
Lastly as for broadcasting over the Internet so I can view in my 2nd location is the box able to broadcast the incoming channel directly to the net or dose the box forward it to your pc first were then you use vlc.
