Hi,

Does anyone know which transponders are the best to use when scanning for certain satellites? For months, I have trying to find Atlantic Bird 12.5W and Amos 4W. I used high symbol rate transponders but it still never used to find a signal, but now I tried about 5 and one of them managed to find me a signal for these two satellites.

However, I'm finding it hard to find a good transponder for Thor 0.8W and Eutelsat W1 10E. Does anyone know any particular transponders for these 2 satellites that are good for finding a signal and if possible for the following other satellites as well:

Eutelsat Sesat (36E)
Eurobird (33E)
Nilesat (7W)
Hispasat (30W)
Express AM1 (40E)
Eutelsat W6 (21.6E)

Thanks for your help.

For 36E try the Uzbek tp - that ones easy to find.

Hipposat - just about any of them are strong!

You can forget W6 on the 80 cm dish listed on your profile - and 4W as well.

For 10E try finding Eurobird 9 at 9E first - you literally cant miss it :D

For Thor 2 at 0.8W, that'll be 11325H, which has BBC World FTA on it.

hi there,

a few months ago i tried up to 7 lnbs with a tec 1500 a triax dish aiming at the mbc channels on 26e and the only one that really stood out was the titanium 0.2 and as far as the invacom is concerned that was poor, even my old eurostar 0.5 lnbs were better

In all honesty John if you are having so much trouble with so many satellites and a 1.1 mtr Triax then this suggests something is wrong with your setup and it is possible you are not correctly on the arc. Below are a few scenarios I tend to go for the North South axis too far East or West or perhaps your skew is incorrect should be no skew on your due South satellite
