is it 12 oclock noon for south do i point the dish at the sun at 12 oclock to start thanks

I'd use a good compass, it's near as damn it close enough taking true & magnetic in consideration :D

First find your longitude from dishpointer.com and then follow the set up guides below in signiture :D

Not in summer, 1pm during summer time. (Ireland and UK )
Nobody told the sun we changed the clocks :D

As SM says, thats not the best way to do it. Best use a compass.

Get yourself a cheapo compass for about a fiver :D

Technomate 5402 HD M2 Ci, DM7000s, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Promax HD Ranger+ spectrum analyser.

5W will be a good satellite, nice strong signal, anything on 11591 V will do http://www.lyngsat.com/ab3.html

You will need to offset your mototr as per the guides first.

well guys all morning still cant find 5w i pointed the dish south 12oclock where the sun was then put usuals in reciver and sent to 5w tryed ajusting with meter cant get the signal just wundering if i pointed it in the right possition at the sun 120clock thanks for all your help den

Make sure your Moteck is at Zero and the dish is centre on the motor shaft.

Set your motor scale bracket to your Latitude, double check it's correct.

Set USALS method on your receiver.

Enter your own Longitude & Latitude.

Send dish to 5w OR select a channel on this satellite.

When the dish stops it's movement of 1.5ºW, align the dish/motor around the pole & dish elevation only.

Make sure the LNb is straight whilst it was on zero.

have done all that thanks for all your help when i point it south how do i know its in the right possition south is a big area thanks have pointed it to the sun at 12 oclock

forget the sun; use a compass and get your rough direction from dishpointer.com
