Fine Adjustment.

My Satellite Setup
Master Focus 90cm .Gigablue UHD Quad 4K on TM 2600 motor. *Tm 5402 HD M3, *Atemio Nemesis. *Not Used.

I noticed when I set up my Fibo 90 what a pain it was to set the elevation. Loosen the nuts a bit and it either goes up or down to far. I was thinking of finding a way of using a long thread bolt to move the dish up or down in small increments. Has anyone done this?
 
Yes that is the idea. So its not only me who finds it fiddly to get the elevation correct. You would think it could be built into the dish bracket when its made.
 
It is i’ve a couple fixed dish mounts for my cm dishes and there’s a fine elevation adjustment with the turn of a spanner.

The fibo bracket can’t be any worse than adjusting a triax dish those are awful.

T90, the sturdy elevation bolt\pivot system is excellent. All dishes should have something like this :O)

Very good ideas/solutions - but then there is the similar problem of the declination adjustment with heavy dishes - which is difficult with TD110 (I have a potential "solution" but it's no more than an idea at the moment).
 
The forward weight of the reflector at low elevations is going to be the biggest determining factor on the elevation bolt design.

Had a look at the Fibo 90 today and a fine adjustment only appears to be possible by bolting through the dish and using a SS 100mm bolt going through the elevation plate.

This looks like a much better bracket than the one on my Fibo 90.

Box of 4x of the same thing (part number BAU4R2-21) for about 2x the cost of one here if anyone is interested in a bulk-buy
 
Still to much due to postage and import duty. One on its own is £34 delivered, then not 100% sure if it would fit my dish, but it appears to be solid. Pity because my Fibo 90 one is crap.

^^^ love the adjustment system on these brackets. Opinions on how big dish\weight they tolerate? & pole diameter?

Given that these seem to be targeted at installers of the US DirectTV domestic sat tv systems, I think they are designed for dishes of <<1m - and I would be wary of mounting anything larger on one.

Pole diameter - judging from the clamping nuts, which appear to be something like 9/16th AF or 13mm, I am guessing that the pole diameter is somewhere between 1 3/4" and 2".

All that said, I could be tempted to buy one just to get hold of the adjustment system bits to then mount them on the TD110 (and/or the TD88 when it goes back up in the Spring) to make declination adjustment easier.

OTOH, if someone like RimaNTSS - who has the equipment and the skills - could make up some sets of adjustment devices similar to those, then I think there would be a ready market for them!

I ordered one today, not sure if I can get a decent fit on my Fibo. About a weeks delivery. Expensive but if I can get it to fit then its worth it as trying to adapt the existing plate is crap.
 
I added an extra bolt on the elevation and 2 extra to the locking bar when I didn't use the jack on my big 2.2m dish. When mommy allowed me to have it up, obviously. :unsure

In theory you didn't need to do that. In reality the wind pressure was so great, lots of wind storms up north even in summer, that they kept it accurately on station for years.

People new to satellite dishes who are randomly reading this note that fiber and 'plastic' dishes are heavier but resist bad weather and severe wind storms better, and last longer than metal dishes.
