Tonight was the first eclipse of the year for 2D. Only 15 minutes today but seemed to take about 30 minutes afterwards to get back up to full power, for me at least. Anyone else notice anything?

Is it that time of year already ? Where are you and what time did it start ?

I'm in Spain but it must affect everyone the same if their reception is right on the threshold. Started on February 26 and runs until April 12. Tonight the satellite is in the dark between 22:42 and 23:31 CET.

April 12. Eclipse season is centred on the sun's equatoral crossing. That happens on the 21st of March every year.

Do you notice any drop power from then ( a week ago) during eclipse time or just notice it once ?
I'm out of footprint of 2d ,but this sat has a huge interesting for those who have large dishes at my region .

Every night at the same time. My dish is a bit small for 2D so I have nothing in reserve, not even any rain margin. Looking at the meter when the power is down my guess is that going up one dish size would solve the eclipse problem.

Thanks a lot for the infos .:)

and it looks like the biannual morning outage from 2d has started with 2d vs the sun......
2ds just gone off at 11am CET - and back again at 1109am CET...

but to save discussions on this all covered before

ITV2 is much weaker here since 6 months back, before ITV3 was the weaker one, it's the opposite now.

Well, my bbc1(2D) went off at 12.20pm for 3 minutes today. I went up on the roof and saw the shadow of the lnb right in the midlle of my 3m prime focus dish.

Ιt depends where you live , if you live e.g. Helsinki at 60N latitude the Sun Outage era starts one month earlier from Spring equinox but if you live at zero latitude- equator - the Sun Outage starts just two-three days before Spring equinox at 21 of March
