First Motorised Install

Hi all as the title suggests this is my first effort at going motorised. I used 7 feet of 2.5 inch pipe concreted 1.5 feet into the ground and to take any spring out of the pipe i filled the inside of it with concrete as well. I am using a Super Darkbox 2008 HD and a Dreambox 500 running the Darkstar 2 image and a SG2100 motor. Oh and i forgot to add what i watch it all on

Hi i get from 28e right round to 30w apart from 4 and 7 w and probably a few others i cant pick up, but very happy with the selection of channels i am getting at the minute.

Very neat install, you could have put some T & K brackets on the wall for extra support. An idea if you go bigger;)

What lnb is that? It looks like a German best .1?

Yes i agree totally t&k brackets would be the finnishing touch, unfortunately the neighbour wont let me drill into his wall and planning regulations only let me have a 90 cm dish with out asking for permission which he wouldnt give.
Its a Darkgold 0.1 lnb which has performed very well on rainy days on 16e

Nice clean and tidy job. Not bad at all for a first time effort.

Regarding plans and 90cm dish, AFAIK you are allowed 100cm now it use be 90cm.

Yes mate your right, after a quick look at the planning permission site it has changed, now can anyone reccomend a good 100cm dish?

M8 to be honest unless you have a channel now which is giving you a lock but not enough for a picture then there is no point upgrading to a 100cm dish.

You're best bet is try a few sats now and see if any channels that you like to watch are borderline then it might be a idea to upgrade.
