I have bought one of the 'new' Invacom feedhorns to replace the existing one on the quad lnb.

Can I please have some help on how to fit this, including the important parameters to set?:)

What was wrong with the existing feedhorn? If it ain't broken and belongs to that particular dish I wouldn't expect much improvement from fitting a generic feedhorn.

Anyway, you need to determine the f/D of your dish and adjust the Invacom scalar ring position accordingly. That is done by screwing/unscrewing the scalar ring on the circular waveguide.

The phase center of the Invacom feedhorn may or may not be the same as for your original feedhorn. You need to mount the Invacom feedhorn so that its distance to the dish is somewhat adjustable in order to be able to find the "sweet spot". Use the position of the original feedhorn waveguide mouth as a starting point for this adjustment.

Make good notes of the positions/distances in the original setup before you start any modification work.

I cannot dissagree with a single word he says.

I assume that you are having problems with reception at around the 8-9pm area yes?

Please can you post a picture of the feedhorn/LNB before. The feedhorn you intend to fit and a piccy of the rear of the dish would also help enourmously. There are realisticly only two types of 2.7m dishes fitted in Paphos and we need to know which it is.

Cheers

Which part of Cyprus do you live, and what time does your BBC/ITV start to break up?
Ps do you have your own sat meter because its not wise to try without one.

There is something wrong with the Quote and Reply function to replies on this and I can only respond here.

I have no problem with reception using a C2600. However, I want to use my Sony VTX760 for digital radio as the C2600 sound sucks; and this drops out at 7-9pm.

The new feedhorn can hopefully give me the edge without going to a 3m dish from a 2.7m.

I shall post pictures later.:)
