flashing image

Hi there any help appreciated.When i try to put image in my 500S box it nearly loads the image then error message saying ERROR resetting lock-bits and then i cant load an image. I think there is no way round sorting this.Have done total erase then put in new image then same result.

Which image? Have you tried a few different images from different developers?

I would recommend the Nabilosat images if you are having trouble with Gemini.

I have tried a few of them yes but still same result.PLi,Gemini & Nabilosat.I am wondering if the box is doomed e.g bootloader I was wondering if there is another program i could use except dreamUpto see if it would load the image.apart from that i cant get it to work and I am getting fed up doing the same thingall the time.Thanksfor replying mate feel free to point me in the right direction.

You should be unplugging everything from the box while flashing.

Also make sure you erase the current image in flash.

Make sure you have the latest version of DreamUP. Other alternatives to dreamup are DreamUpLAN + 'Flash Wizard Pro'. Both of these require that the box at least gets to the point where it can be accessed over LAN.

If you cant find them on this forum, have a look under 'Programme zum Flashen' on the IHAD database for apps to flash your box.

What cable are you using? Are you using a usb to serial adapter? If yes - don't as it's not reliable.

I have a null modem cable which i have used before and it worked no problem.Can you tell me what this type of error is and why it is happening.

This type of error is known as a "f***, I hate my bloody Dreambox", error code sh1t.

Have you tried using a different PC or laptop to flash it?
