Flat coax coupler - any reviews

I saw these and wondered has anyone used them? Are they any good? I have a neighbour whose wall mounted cabinet is very shallow and tight, the WF100 cable I used is very stiff and pushes the receivers out over the front edge of the cabinet, these might give me the flexibility to push them further back and tidy things up

I used a couple years ago, bought them for someone moving into a rental who wanted a sat receiver in an upstairs room, but didn't want any holes drilled. They worked OK, but from memory attenuated the signal a bit. You could always use rightangled F to F adapters, or perhaps WF65 patch cables..

Ive used flat section coax for years - living in rented accomodation & not having the equipment to drill through thick stone walls its a good solution. They work absolutely fine for satellite, wxsat, 1090MHz aircraft tracking and any other use I can find for them. Attenuation is minimal as far as I can tell

Few family members use these, never had any issues tbh.

They are pretty cheap and Ive not noticed issues, worth buying to find out.

Stick a pair of joined cables on a spectrum analyser, then try same with the toothpaste tube stuck under a window frame.

From memory there was attenuation around 1700 and again at 1900 MHz but it's been a long time and things may have improved.

My experience with them is that they work with no noticeable attenuation, but they won't stand up to much abuse, okay if you're using it to feed through a window that rarely opens, but any window or door that gets opened & closed frequently will see it fail sooner or later. Best to get several just in case, as they're easy enough to replace (though weatherproofing the outside joint is still advisable.

That is what I have read also. In case of reception problems, the first probable cause always was the flat coax connection.

BTW I've seen them in three forms, in pictures:
- white and flat
- white and less flat, with an extra aluminium strip in it to form/keep the needed bends
- brown flat 'plastic', with two copper lanes visible on it (so no coax)

Don't know which is "the best", I've no experience with them.
