fluctuating signal

could someone please help
i have a standard amstrad sky system
my problem is
the signal strength,quality keeps fluctuating
and the lock keeps coming in & out.

Could be a tree moving in and out of the dish line of sight, if it's an old Amstrad, it may well be the tuner or power supply on the blink, do you have the opportunity of borrowing another receiver to try on your dish and or trying your receiver on another dish?

about a prob i asked about yesterday
there are no obstructions
i am getting the terrestrial channels via the system
they seem to be ok

They are on the lower frequency band, you really need to check your receiver on another dish, or use a different receiver on your dish to check which is at fault.
