For Echostar 3000 users

I thought ir2 was cleared with mrev ?
If not I have no need for hellas but I still need to be able to program a sat,
what sat is any good then ive got hotbird hipasat astra 1 I cant get anything free thats worth watching ie bbc 123&4 itv 12&3 from astra 2 for some reason eutelw3 and telestar is there anything I am missing out on between turksat at 31.3*E and hipasat at 30*w?
I am going to try the above now, my eyes are turning red and I think I am becoming obsessed !
 
Not as far as I know - but check the Irdeto sub forum for the latest news, or one of the others may jump in with an update..

You cant miss the powerhouse signals from 28E - the satellites radiate signals that are amongst the most powerful above Europe.

I can get these with an 80cm dish easily enough:

Hispasat 1B / 1C / 1D (30W)

Atlantic Bird 2 / Telecom 2D (8 W)

Atlantic Bird 3 (5W)

Thor 2 / 3 (1W)

Sirius 2 / 3 (5E)

Eutelsat W3A (7E)

Eutelsat W1 (10E)

Hotbird 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 6 (13 E)

Eutelsat W2 (16E)

Astra 1B-C / E-H, 2C (19.2E)

Arabsat 3A (26 E)

Astra 2A / 2B / 2D / Eurobird (28.2 E)

Hellas Sat 2 (39 E)

Turksat 1C / Eurasiasat 1 (42E)

I have trees between 8W & 30W, so anything there is out of the question.
 
I have just searched astra 2 .
I have found loads of chanels (322) but bbc and itv's lot are not there that are named anyway, are urs named or do u just have to scroll thru all the unnamed stuff to find them?I found 3 ch 4's but they wont clear with a mrev yet in digital satelite it states they are clear wierd or what?
 
ITV1 / 2 / C4/ C5 are ftv (free with a card and ONLY with Sky digiboxes). The 4 versions are for the 4 macro regions (London / rest of England / Wales / Scotland).

You may need to add in the extra transponders if the tp database is pre BBC on Astra 2D:

im getting confused lets take it slower,
if ir2 is not cleared by mrev its no use ,so i would like eurobird 1 at 28.5 E
in menu 6 6 1
i have set

1= eurobird
2 =28.5E
3=001 RTM (I dont know what to do with this)
4 = 11488.00 I got this from digisat mag but the decimal point is in the wrong place.
5 = off (I dont know what to do with this)
6 = vertical again from digisat mag
7 = not set (I dont know what to do with this)
8 = c (I dont know what to do with this)
9 = off (I dont know what to do with this)
10 2 (I dont know what to do with this)

is this all right and if so how do I save it ? do i need to add a transponder too?
is there any chance I could phone u on a landline tonight and if u would talk me through it step by step????
I seem to be getting nowhere fast.

Wait till I get home just past 6 & I'll have a look on mine. Cant remember all the menus at work...

Dont worry about the decimal point being in the wrong place it depends if the freq is given in GHz or MHz - most folks on here use MHz

For example, 9750MHz = 9.750 Ghz (as you can see its 1000 times bigger)

To add a tp, go menu 6 6 1. The frequency bar will be reading zero Scroll down and alter this to the required freq. 10773 H with sr 22000 & fec5/6 should give you a pile of beeb channels if you are pointing at 28E

Wont allow phone calls,(I hate the bloody thing!) but might be persuaded to help via yahoo messenger if you have that

Hang on just realised something - you are on the Analogue menu - that RTM 001 is RTM in position 001 from 16E Eutel W2. One of the coloured buttons (Green ?) swaps you into the digital menu.Try that first!!
 
Ok to add a tp from scratch for the 3000.

Set up the required satellite in menu 6,1 first.

Assuming the dish is pointing atb the correct bird, use menu 6, 6, 1 to get to the tp adding screen. Scroll left right from 1 SATELLITE to get to the required bird.

To add a DIGITAL channel you want the screen with SYMBOL RATE as item 5. If you have 5 = LOW THRESHOLD you are on the ANALOGUE screen, so press GREEN to flip over to the digital screen.

To begin with, lines 7 - 10 will be greyed out - dont worry about this.

Scroll down to 3 = TP / SIGNAL QUALITY.

Set the required frequncy in MHz, eg 10773

Set 4 = LNB POLARIZATION to H or V for your channel

Set 5 = SYMBOL RATE to the required tp symbol rate eg 22000

Set 6 = FEC to the tp fec eg 5/6

Press OK twice

Scroll back up to the freq line. If its set up correctly, the blue line at the bottom will shoot over towards the right.

Press BLUE to scan the tp.

You can edit the details in 7 - 10 once channels have been stored - you sometimes need to reset the vpid & apid if channels change parameters.

Dont worry about the PCR, 9 times out of 10 its the same as the vpid.

Press white to exit and store the added channels

Menu 5, 1 allows the channel layout to be altered (channels to be moved, deleted etc.).
 
To add an ANALOGUE channel you want the screen with 5 = LOW THRESHOLD. If you have 5 = SYMBOL RATE you are on the DIGITAL screen, so press GREEN to flip over to the analogue screen.

You can manually set the name in 3=CHANNEL NAME (Press the "OK" button) Set the 3 = FREQUENCY to a required channel, and 6 = LNB POLORIZATION to H or V

The pic should appear under the menus.

If you have weak signal, try tweaking the 5 = LOW THRESHOLD setting

8 = C/Ku is for the LNB. Leave it on Ku unless you have a C-band lnb and are specifically hunting for C-band stuff..

9 = DECODER should be left to off unless you have an outboard decoder to add in - this is for things like the old Filmnet decoders, (now long obsolete)
 
Heres a new digital transponder set up on Astra 1 and ready to scan - although Ive forgotten to set the fec - that comes from doing it in a hurry :rolleyes: .

I am set up with it but i have never used it i presume its like mIRK use to be is it?
but hopefully all your info above should help, echonav may be good but i wish amstrad/fidelity made a receiver (way more user friendly)

Tanx anologuesat for your time and expertise, I have been playing some more and lost the dish direction, thought it was gunna cost me to get a man that can in but I managed it in the end, only took 5 hours ! you live and u learn... ps can i get itv 1 & 2 chan 4 & 5 from anywhere ?

please,please,please could someone help me here regarding my echostar 3000 and dragon cam,I have finished updating with the latest software and bought myself a dragon cam.I have loaded the latest firmware predator 307 and i'm reciveing channels i.e mtv, eurosport ,multivision & tps channels.Yesterday I updated to predator 9 but lost the likes of mtv & eurosport but got other channels which I didn't with predator7 (hope i'm making sense ) like sportsmania and some other spanish stuff.Today I see theres a predator 10 been released so do I load this one and see what I get or stick with the channels I like.Being new to all this cam and card stuff please could someone tell me what the debug option is for in the common interface selection and what are hex keys for and if so do I need to load them and how would I go about doing this.All so how many channels should I be able to watch with the latest firmware update.

I would be greteful for ant help on these subjects,thankyou
 
yes predator 310 is what you want to download and you should get just over 1000 on hotbird 13* I am using a 300ip and dragon and its working great
 
Cant comment on the Dragon as I havent got mine working right yet, but if you have a gold card most of the TPS, ART (arabic channels - not Sport) are definitely available at the moment with a special flash for the goldie.
 
These wonderful receivers still fetch around £140 on Ebay. I did want another...but there is always the risk of getting the £80 problem that requires the new chip! I am not sure whether the chip problem occurs if fans have been used. 3000ip used to cut out through sheer heat if I was mucking around in menus for a long time. For some reason i do not get that problem now. Use it daily / hourly, to be honest and on all night... on Fox News!
 
My 3000ip has been running almost every day for years. Uprated an electrolytic and resistor in the power supply and fitted a small fan to improve the airflow across the processor/ SMPS (warm air blows out of the side vent). A classic receiver.

So has mine - and mine hasnt had any fans added, although I think that might be a good idea when I have a few minutes as Ive got loads from scrapped pc's from work..

Apart from one or two problems with it hanging when it hits a scrambled channel it doesnt like, its not been any trouble at all apart from the remote wearing out. Id have another one tomorrow.

I have a problem,i've dropped my remote control in to a half a glass of coke cola .some of the controls are working others wont.do i need to let it dry out or do you think it is damaged.I've tried to take the top of to try and dry it out but not sure of that as i dont want to break it.Its an echostar 3000ip.

Coke is corrosive. You HAVE to get the phosphoric acid and sugar out of the remote

Wash it in deionised water loads of times (take the batteries out first!) (tap water is better than nothing) and let it dry. Hope for the best as new remotes cost up to 70 quid!
