For Echostar 3000 users

Have had to do a factory reset with my AD3000 Via.
Set up East setting and have gone as far West as needed ie; Hispasat.
Here is where the problem starts. I'm unable to monitor signal strength in order to find Hispasat or my middle satellite.Both the signal level and quality remain at about 10%.

I am unable to locate even the strongest satellite...signal strength will not give me a hint that I am even close to a satellite. As you can appreciate, I can almost guess where they are on the screen, but I can't get anything..
I have even tried it with a spare AD3000 non via, but it is exactly the same.
I just can't get any signal strength with either receiver.
Thank you for any suggestions.

Hi Allan

Assuming everything else is ok (LNB etc), one method I used with my now ex AD3000 was to set the limits (E and W) and then go to one of the limits (say W) and move the dish Eastwards, making sure I had live transponders for Hispasat for example. Very manual method but it always worked for me. Once I had 30W ok the rest followed.
 
Still have the AD 3000 IP :)


Still does all i want, driving the 1.1 triax dish with an actuator, cams cards etc take care of the rest.

Bought mine new when it came out new, never had an problem with mine after adding the fan, went with us to France on holliday the last 5 years as well ;)

i think it's a great box Brilliant quality especially on films! it's like watching a dvd!!! Using matrix cam 0.7xxx Conax.

Thanks for your advice, tried the manual method but felt convinced the trouble lay elsewhere.
Took note of your comment,(LNB) in brackets, and dug out an old grundig LNB that for some unknown reason I had decided to keep after replacing it with an Invacom some years ago.
Problem solved.
Now I know why we hobbyists hoard everything, you never know when it may come in handy

Further to the video quality of the AD3000, using discrete video/audio chips (Philips and Sony ic's for video processing and video/audio switching) was far better than having all the processing done in one ic (STi etc). The RGB output is superb in these STB's.

hi all im a old hand but a new newbie lol
not used my echostar 3000ip for over 12months for various reasons but just got a zeta blue cam for free x tv but cant automatically or manually add the channels any help would be very nice as i am at my wits end lol

Set the receiver on a channel on Hotbird (?) and use Menu 6, 6, 1 to add a tp.
 
Anyone seen this before?

Tuesday I decided to scan a Sirius tp to add in a fta service reported on flysat. So scanned it as normal, then couldnt find the channels added onto the end of the Sirius listsings as normal.

A few minutes later I found the sirius channels - they were at the beginning of the Astra 1 listings, but down under C-band frequencies! :(

BY this time I had 2 Astra 1 entries, and by the time I had deleted those and the incorrect C-ban entries, the Hotbird lists were scrambled.

I deleted Hotbird added in the fta tp's Im interested in and rescanned the entire list. As of 11pm last night, Hotbird channels have overlaid every channel list Ive got saved, so its a full reset at some point and a reload to see if that corrects the problem.

Does this sound like a symptom of the faulty memory problem or has the box just chucked its teddy out of the pram??
 
I think its time for a factory reset but if your gunna do that you may aswell load up to date software from the echostar site to add the new sats, I think your on a fixed dish but if your not don't forget to record the dish limits and sat positions as I didn't and it took decades (slight exargeration) (but you get the point) to get it all perfect again...

Factory reset done this afternoon, just had to remember to scribble down the disecq settings for the multi dishes. The 19E lnb seems to have packed up - its not switching above 11700, but Ive got a spare lying around somewhere. Ive got 5E and 13E working ok, so Im happy for the moment.
 
2 are better than none, I have just lost lots of channels on hispa people and art* paramount comedy cine 1 & 2 etc with pred 3.22 bummer or what that didn't last long (1 day)
 
Hi Guys,

Glad to have found this thread for owners of the AD-3000IP.

I have a morotized 1M dish and the AD-3000IP and 4 years ago had to put the receiver into storage cause I was out in Saudi.

Now I am back I want to re-connect the receiver to the dish but totally stuck with the wiring in the back !

Now, I have a wire which is connected to the dish and I want to hook it back into the back of the AD-3000.

On that wire, I have 4 smaller wires coloured red, black, white and yellow and of course on the back of the AD-3000 I have the usual M1, M2, M.PULSE, +5V, GND and SKEW connectors.

Now, the puzzle is which wire goes to what connector at the back of the receiver ?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

As far as I can recall the connections are:

M1 red
M2 black
Pulse yellow
GND White (mine was green when I had one)
