Formula One teams agree cost-cutting principles

Following a meeting of its executive committee at Heathrow on Thursday, the Formula One Teams Association (FOTA) has pushed forward initiatives decided with the FIA in December and unanimously agreed to a set of measures designed to cut costs within the sport. At the gathering, the teams signed a detailed aerodynamic test restriction agreement, effective from this season, established a unified policy to develop and freeze low cost transmissions for the 2010/12 seasons and reaffirmed their commitment to the supply of 5 million Euro engines to independent teams from 2010.
