Well the second Stabb hh 120 motor has crapped out on me again, these are getting to be expensive. Heavy winds have loosened the motor arm on my latest Stabb motor. I have decided to modify my 1.2m Fortec and add an actuator with a stand alone positioner. I would also like to paint the dish and was looking for suggestions as to what type of paint to use as I have only painted a mesh dish before.

Thanks for the reply Martin.

I've done several modifications before and my neighbour did one on his 1.2m Fortec, I have 2 extra 24" actuators to choose from:

Thanks to beavs2112 on finding me an Andrews/Channel Master 1.2m dish at an excellent price. The seller comes to my home town once every 2 weeks and is bringing it to me. The feed intrigues me though, never seen anything like it before:

Nice find there Costa ;)

It looks like the side arms are like the ones I mentioned in the "Test of 120cm Antenna" thread, they attach to the side of the lnb holder, like so;

I was asking if anyone had come across one of these and a few days later you acquire one for yourself! :)

I've never seen that type of feed before, what is the purpose of that attachment?

I have no intention of using this dish on c band, my 3m and 2.4m circular dedicated suffice for me.

Sorry Costactc I was relating to this :)

You're welcome :) Glad it's going to a good home. I'm looking forward to some better pictures once you get it. Then we can tell you for sure what equipment it has bolted to it. I am sure at this point Riverblue is correct that it is a TX/RX feedhorn.

Looks similar to the one that came with my 1m CM 'Tooway' dish (satellite internet). The arms are standard though, just a different LNB/feedhorn holder.

Vsat. The seller told me I'd have to modify the lnb and or holder:

Used for Cband with a modified holder and Cband lnb (pointed at 99)
Used for KU band by cutting a FTA KU band lnb removing the feedhorn and attaching it to the one supplied with the dish.
Used for KU band by drilling out the holder hole to 40 mm and using a regular FTA KU lnb.

I think I might keep this one for a seperate install for now until I figure it out. The modified polar mount for my fortec is ready to go, now if only mother nature would cooperate...a balmy -13c today.

Hi Contactc, I know this feed , I have one new in box for a channel master 1.20m

With this you can uplink in a polarization and receive in the other polarization .but you can also receive on both.

PS: If someone is interested with this item, let me know, I will never use a small channel master.
