Hi Guys,
Noobie here I have the above box for about a year and never used it yet ( bought from Maplin in a plastic box for the caravan ),
I was having a play with it and tonight I downloader the loader and latest firmware. I am getting an error message thet the target something is not connected.
I have a USB to seriel convertor which shows up in device manager as com 12 which I put into the loader but it just gibves me this error.
Any ideas what I might be doing wrong, laptop software is win7 home premium.

Probably a baud rate problem, many boxes don't like these converters.

9600 is the one to use normally but I have seen them work with 19200 as well, I have seen many problems reported with these converters in the past and often it is more a case of good luck rather than good judgement, this is the reason I still maintain a Win 98 laptop and no other reason. You say you input com12 into the downloader but I would suggest com1 or com3

The usb converter is quite a good one I have used it on other equipment for updating software and it has
worked fine.
