Fortec Star Passion HD loader v.15

I have a Fortec Star Passion HD box and have just uploaded the latest V1.15 loader and new firmware.
it worked fine with the 1.14 version but now the loader simply doesn't load.
Can anyone tell me how the revert to the 1.14 version or give me a link to get it.
The box lights up and the Loader V.15 shows in the pane but the HDMI shows no signal and the machine will not respond to the remote control.

Moved to the Fortec Passion HD section.

Try loading again by this method -

Switch off the box, plug in a USB stick with only the v.150 loader file on it and switch back on. You should get 'file read' on the front display, then 'file 1'. Press the box's 'OK' button and you see '1 Loader'.

Press OK again and it should go through the loading sequence and end with 'Power off'.

Switch off the box and remove your stick. It should now boot up with the loader, after which you can load the firmware.

I too have had the same problem.

I've tried the above info but my system is still not responding. I've gone back to v140 but it still hangs.

Any help would be appreciated.

I wonder is anyone has found a way out of this as I also have just loaded V1.5 and it now hangs at Loader V1.5 and I've tried every answer I can find to no avail.

Possiby the wrong firmware loaded (perhaps for the Passion+? ). The only suggestion I can offer if you're still having problems is to email Fortecstar and ask them to send you their RS232 Download Manager, to use to reflash your eeprom with the correct firmware via RS232, if that is the case.

Before I read your post I realised that I had made the most classic of mistakes. I already have a Passion + and bought another off ebay that needed repairing. Repaired it then updated the loader and the latest software EXCEPT I didn't look properly and assumed that it too was a Passion +. It actually is a Passion HD not the + - somepne had changed the front flap! So after reloading the correct software away it goes.

It's the old maxm - look, look then look again for the obvious error.

Glad it's working OK now Xomegaman.

Some owners of either models aren't so lucky when they mistakenly use the wrong software - and there are several who have done so. Pity Fortecstar don't make it more clearer in their download instructions about choosing the correct version.

It is a pity Fortec Star firmware loader doesn't do a version check to make sure the user has the correct version on USB. Other manufacturers often has a check to make it impossible to load an incorrect firmware image.

They used to with earlier Fortecs, and probably still do with other models. The Passion seems to be the Cinderella of the species.

has anyone got rs232 firmware uploader for this STB???Have same problem with the loader, whilst box is on theres "loader" on the front screen and box doesnt react to any opeartion, cheers.
