Hi,

Hope someone can help with this. We have a Fortec Star receiver, we are able to receive a couple of greek channels with no problems but other channels have a strong signal but no picture or sound.

Do we need to get some kind of viewing card to see these?

Apologies if this seems a bit simple but we are new to this, to be honest answer in words of one syllable may be the best!!:-DOH!

Thanks

Jan

Do you know what satellite you are viewing?

Please name some channels you can watch with no problems.

and the ones you can't view?

Channels are either Free To Air (No Encryption) or belong to a Package (Like Sky) and so are Encrypted.

Your Lifetime Classic will only receive Free To Air (FTA) Channels in its raw state.

Channels lists by Language, by Satellite, by Package etc. are to be found at _www.flysat.com, _www.lyngsat.com, _www.kingofsat.net and elsewhere.

Can you tell us what sort of dish you are using? Is it motorised?

It is a motorised dish. Satellites are Hotbird 1, 2 & 3. Can get ERT World, RIK Sat, cannot get Mega, Antenna, Greek Sky, Star, ERT1, 2 & 3

You need a subscription to the Nova Greece package.

As far as I can remember, and as Tivu says, the Lifetime classic is a purely FTA receiver, so doesn't have a CAM or card slot anyway.

Ay, that's why SWMBO inherited mine: Tried a patch some years ago, but had no joy.
