Thanks Jed. Bought off Ebay for £65 + pp. Took it to Maplin in Poole and they persevered with a few Hard Discs. They had no luck initially, tried their Tech Support, who told them to try a Samsung HD. The shop only had one, which was 500Gb, and it works perfectly. Very impressed!

One niggle remains withFirewire. I'm on Vista, can get "1394 PVR ..." to display in "Device Manager", but it does not appear in "My Computer".
For the price though, it is absolutely excellent. Thanx for details of the Ebay Seller. Much appreciated.

Hi, I'm glad you got sorted out did you buy your receiver from the ebay link I placed in the earlier post, it's good that you managed to get Maplin to find a 500Gb drive to operate in the receiver as the receiver's maximum drive specification is supposed to be 200Gb according to my manual, it would be useful if you could post the model number of the drive on the forum as it will help any users if they intend to install a larger drive in a receiver.

Yes I get Multivision but cannot get Premiere with the Fortec star Zeta. Has anyone been able to get it ? Now on v1.11.81F.

OK.. this is what I have on Board at present..

I have a Hivion HV7000 PVR Twin + DA
My STB Status is as follows:
Model ID 0000A526
H/W Version 2.00.00-3
S/W Version 11.18.2F
Multivision Opens YES just go to the usual Freq: 10873 Ver 3/4 on HB and wait for a few Secs and its fine until about 3am ..then go back to France 4 and let it Update again.This works well and is very Stable.
PW will NOT Open ...BUT saying that I personally think it has something to do with the Softcam ..I still cannot find a Softcam which is compatible and lists ALL the Keys required..
every Softcam I load has the PW Keys missing ..and a lot of the other Stuff as well...
When I Edit the Softcam and Insert all the missing Keys..It crashes the STB.!
I DO NOT understand this..!
This keeps happening and I cannot find a solution.!
The only way to Stop the STB from crashing is to go onto a FTA Channel and switch the STB OFF at the Rear..this will Memorise the last FTA Channel and if it gets stuck and crashes again then all you have to do is flip the Mains Switch at Rear ..OFF and back ON.
This will save you having to Clear the Flash with the Clear S/W and Load the Latest S/W back..!
So for the moment I am using a Diablo and T-Rex Super Cam..which is perfect..
NOT the best solution but it is Good and Works well.
Where did you get the " Vers : 1.12.00F." from..?
and what Softcams are you using and where from..?
Are ALL the Keys Listed in the On Board EMU when you Load an Updated or the Latest Softcam.....?
Is your S/W Version exactly the same as mine above in Red....?
Lots of Q's Buddy..but lets Start somewhere and find a Fix for this stupid problem.OK

Hi,

Just happened to stumble on this thread I had started ages ago...Anyway found the CAS menu at last but can't get Premier.

Now running v11.18.1F since later firmware up to v11.20.0F crashes when tuning on Premier.

Anyone knows why ?

To solve this problem ..Just go into the EMU Menu.
1..Main menu
2..Scroll down to STB Setting and remain there.
3..Now Press 1234 on your Remote this will bring up the EMU for you.
4..Go onto PW in Nagra Prov:501 and insert a line of Zeros.
This will Void PW and you can insert a Cam for this and still keep the Rest of the Keys and the AU Functions for TPS.
This solution can be used any S/W version.
Why this is happening dont know yet..but working on it.

Well my Friend you will just have to rely on the mercy of the S/W Developers if you don't have a Cam.
By the way have you found a Softcam for this STB..?
there are so many Clones for this STB its just crazy to find a Softcam which works.
Do you know of one that works..?

There seems to be a problem to get the right Softcam for our EMU..
But you can solve your problem by using ANY of the Dragon or T-Rex Cams also Diablo and Giga Cam work very well with this STB.

RAI Asia is now called RAItalia International and is FTA ..so NO longer Encrypted.

Thanks again,Andy.I managed to fing the channels.I will try loading the latest file.The reason that they continue to encrpyt Rai Africa is due to that channel showing live Serie A games on Saturday and Sunday evenings.
P.S.It would be great if someone found a softcam that works on this receiver

YES that has been my Plea ever since I first got the STB..which has been nearly 2 Years now....O-no
I just cannot for the Love of me see the point in holding back if someone has the right Softcam..
Maybe someone out there will take Pity on us and Post one..!
I have been using Cams up until now..BUT they conflict with the On Board EMU and there is NO way to switch the EMU OFF..
Lets put it this way I have NOT found the way to do this..!

I have one of these but it really didn't suit my needs as I needed to record 1 encrypted channel (using 1 CAM) and watch another (using my Dragon CAM). The recording often failed as the CAM needed reinitialising often.
I also never made the most of the softcam - can anyone advise on how to enter keys into it? Would be fun to see it working and may let my dad have it at some point if the softcam is OK.

1..Press Menu on your Remote..ONCE
2..Scroll down and Highlight the Section "STB Setting" making it Blue and remain there...DO NOT press OK.
3..Now Press 1234 on your Remote this will bring up the "EMU Menu" for you.
4.Then proceed ..How we spoke about in the earlier Post..OK

What S/W version are you using..?

Don't bother with any "prededit 1.4" Editors..!!
Just Load the Daily Updates for your Dragon with a CAS3 and the CIS V8.3.
(If you DO NOT have a CAS3 then YES you will have to buy one)
(The Software for the CAS3 is called CIS V8.3 get it @ Duolabs)
Why do you want to go to all the bother and screw around with the Editors.
Just keep it as simple as possible for yourself OK...M8y.
I think its a little too complicated for you..OK
This way its the quickest and you get everything Updated..OK

Read the other Posts above ..
I have explained How to get into EMU Menu..
After you are in you have to figure out which Keys go where..!
BUT since this STB has NOT got any GOOD Supporting EMU's ..
OR...Softcams..we are in a bit of a pickle here..!

I would suggest using a Cam like you have been doing..
Sorry about the Recording problems and your Cam's reinitialising BUT that's what this STB is like unfortunately..S**T...!!!
AS I have said before I have had this for 2 Years and never had it running properly..and I KNOW what I am doing.
I use a Diablo Cam and that's fine...If you Load a more recent S/W version then..the "Crepey" Softcam and EMU on Board will CONFLICT with your Cam and that's why..I suggested to Delete the PW Keys completely from/out of the Softcam/EMU...At least this way your CAM will work properly..!!

NO chance in Heaven in getting this STB to work properly..O-no
I came here to get Info about the right Softcams and EMU solutions and ALL I am doing is Helping others out with their problems..WHICH is OK..
BUT.. I am NOT getting any positive response for my problems..
I would imagine IF my problems with this STB got sorted out..
then I could do something to Help us ALL...understand.U-zzz

Can't even find a decent Editor that is compatible to Edit the Softcams for ourselves for this STB....NOT EVEN an older or recent working Softcam version to use..!!:mad:

Its SO frustrating...am getting nowhere..!:mad:
