For anyone wanting a FREE zip and rar extraction file try this:-

http://www.softpedia.com/get/Compression-tools/ExtractNow.shtml

It's called ExtractNow and is free, I don't know what it's like as I've never used it, but it is supposed to be very good but don't blame me if it's not.:) :)

Thanks for info, might try it out.

If someone wants a good one that has been tried and tested, try Winrar (www.winrar.de) it is available in a number of languages and is free for personal use.

It's not free TG it's a 40 day trial offer, after which you must buy or it will not work.

ExtractNow looks nice, but it seems inefficient to install one app for archiving and one for extraction - why not choose one that does both well enough?

I like WinRAR, but it's shareware, so not for everyone. I don't know anything about the tool rolfw suggested... I'd vote for 7-zip as a free alternative anyway, or something from this page - RAR extractor list (a list of free rar extractors for all major OS's).

Have used 'zip reader by PKWARE' for years with no problems.
Haven't tried this newer version, but the older one I have is excellect.
