I have a Panasonic TX26 LXD70 television with built in freeview runing off an aerial. I would like answers to the following please:-

1 Will a free sat system work on the freeview tv?

2 If Yes - which is a reasonbale freesat package?

3 Assuming 1 and 2 are yes, how do I couple up the TV in the bedroom?

1) Freesat wont work on a Freeview enabled TV - different transmission types.

2) Theres really only one Freesat package!

3) Not applicable.

Welcome to the forum Ken.

Freesat is just that, free to air programming via satellite. The above model doesn't have an embedded freesat receiver so a standalone freesat receiver required.

Think there are some freesat receivers that have an RF out which could be used to distribute the RF signal around to other rooms.

Sadly not, I'm afraid. Big bugbear.

Caveat: Unless one has been produced very recently indeed!

The current range of Freesat Boxes (both SD, HD and PVR) can be seen here:

_http://www.joinfreesat.co.uk/index.php/digital-boxes/sagem-dtr94250s

They simply connect to your TV via SCART or HDMI (as appropriate).

Obviously you'll need a Satellite Dish and either one feed (for non-PVR) or two feeds (for PVR).

You could get a cheaper model (around £50) Freesat Box to use in the Bedroom, but that will also require one (or two) feeds.

The total number of feeds required then governs which LNB (lumpy bit on end of dish arm!) you need fitting.

A customer whom i recently installed a freesat receiver for, had emailed Humax to ask if they would be producing a receiver with rf outputs-he had received a basic reply via email which stated they intended to release a model in the first quarter of 2010, which would have rf outputs and also be compatible with magic eyes
