Freesat on a Sky box

Hi there

I have just cancelled multi-room and now have Entertainment Package on my main Sky+ box's viewing card but only non-subscription Sky channels on the other box.

As the free Sky offering is so pitiful, can you tell me if there is any way to "unlock" the Sky box so that I can receive all of the Freesat channels without buying another box?

Wife likes things like GOLD, Watch, Dave etc. so it would help a lot if this can be done.

At the moment we are swapping the subscription viewing card between boxes but that's a problem if I'm recording something on the Sky+ box and she wants to watch something different through the other one.

Any help appreciated.

You will get ALL the Freesat Channels on a non subscribed Sky box.

GOLD and Dave are not Freesat channels, they need a subscription.

Sky boxes cannot be 'unlocked' to obtain subscription or encrypted channels without the appropriate subscrption/fee.

Dave Gold etc are available for free on a FREEVIEW box (dtt via an aerial) - if you live in an area that can get DTT.



They are pay channels on satellite, If you want them then you pay for them - there is no way to "unlock" Sky pay channels.

Watch and Gold are not on Freeview but Dave is. (Gold is available terrestrially as part of Top-Up TV though).
 
Fair enough - I took our aerial down after dso in November 2008 - I couldnt get a strong enough signal due to tree growth. So I dont keep up to date with which channels are where on dtt.

Satellite only here now :D
