Hi all,

I have just returned from the UK after buying a Humax Freesat box that i tested in the UK and it worked. When setting it up here in the Netherlands it requested a postcode obviously i don't have one that works. I live near Amsterdam and would appreciate any help in getting my Humax box to work.

Not obvious at all????

In what way doesn't it work, what message, if any do you get?

Try using channel island post code or manchester one there transponder is stronger ( M1A 1AD )

In that case, perhaps you are typing it in wrong? Are you putting the space in?

Hi Yes i did put the spaces in but it came back each time with invalid postcode

There's only one space I think.

Yes, the correct syntax is vital.

Caught me out when I first got my Foxsat!

If you're in a fringe area for Astra 2d reception, you can have great fun changing post codes to get the best possible combination of BBC 1 and 2 and corresponding ITV regions in an attempt to use all vertical or all horizontal transponders! ( I realize BBC 2 is horizontally polarized only, but have always had slightly better reception from BBC 2 Wales, for whatever reason).

I would like to thank everybody for there help. I got it working first with a channel Island postcode then with one from South England perfect quality. This shows that solving a problem can be done collectively if ther are enough people willing to help. Thanks again :):)

How is that supposed to work? The Postcode data steam will be off one tp and cross checked inside the receiver.

NeoSteve if you are still having problems do a full reset and that should put it back to an "out of the box" configuration.

Yes, had a Humax the other day, wouldn't accept a postcode until I'd done a factory reset.
