As much of Freesat is on Astra 2d, then you won't be able to watch it with a 1.2m dish, but if you subscribe to Sky, then you will get most of the package channels, as you should be able to receive most of the other beams.

My Satellite Setup
Dreambox DM500 connected to 6MB ADSL Internet, with Gbox on a 1.2 satellite Dish.

In Malta only the Melita Cable TV Network may pick up 2D and it's very weak too... They pick it up with their massive 5.2 metre dish... Forget 2D in Malta! One may still watch the ITV channels if you have an original sky subscibtion... ITV 1 is weak however you may pick it up with a 1.2 dish. I have a 1.8 and i get everything except 2D naturally :)
