Just Sharing This Freesat V8 Golden combo Testing

Well I have been testing the Freesat V8 Golden combo for a couple of weeks now ( S2 & T2) Powervu / Tandberg & all other CAS supported,

The Blind Scan is almost non existent & using it with a motor DiSEqC USALS is not very good either (It did not always move to the next selected satellite)

But on the Plus side the V8 Golden combo has enabled me to watch all of the Tandberg+ EPL feeds with no key input from me,

Other keys need to be added manually Power Vu,Bulsat ect,

The receiver is very small & sits nicely on top of the TM5502HD that I use to move the dish & use the V8 Golden as a slave receiver an excellent addition to my Feed Hunting activities,

When the keys change you just reboot the receiver & the keys update then you can view within 30 sec looks like all the keys have been preloaded in the CAS even the new one's in use over the last few days,

Excellent pictures in SD transmissions of Arena Sport 1-4 on 39 east the upscaling is the best I have ever seen,

Far superior to the TM5402HD M3 SD & slightly better than the TM6902HD that up until now I had considered to be very good.

Yes it is very misleading the FreeSat is not with the FreeSat EPG so not a FreeSat receiver as such,

Most of the functional software for updating the data base is best performed with the motor deselected the bonus is the pre-loaded channel clearing a bit like the Foretec Star I purchased in 1995 that cleared all the Viasat channels @ 4.8 east due to the CAS in the receiver at a time when I knew nothing about keys & CAS

Move motor to satellite with the TM5502HD then update the V8Golden.

Decided to try one of the V8S versions - not the Golden Combo version because I don't need/want Terrestrial - because that has Sat loop through. Will see what it's like when connected to the TM loop through, and it also gives me the option to loop it on to the Sat input on the TV.

Hi william-1,i am interested in the Freesat V8 Golden combo especially for the tandberg premiership feeds but what is the tuner like on these boxes as i have a technomate 5402 m3 and if i bought this Freesat V8 Golden combo it would be used as a slave box like your setup but sometimes i stuggle with the 7 east tandberg feed but better on the 10 east feed with my technomate 5402 m3 with 1.1 triax dish in the north east of england and also i see these boxes seem to be sold only in the far east or ebay uk between £45.00-£50.00 unless you can advise on buying from anywhere else. different.Thanks.Ps tried the vplug on the technomate 5402 m3 and cannot get it to work.

Freesat V8 Golden combo Tuner sensitivity is very good using a Gibertini OP 100 L 100cm dish + Inverto Black Ultra 0.2,
The receivers sensitivity is as good as the TM5502HD & TM6902HD no problems with reception from 7 east & 10 east,

You will need to continue to search for where to get one as there are a lot of clones out there for the price you mentioned,
The supplier I got mine from does not have any now.

Will have to, some time soon, try the Opensat V8 and Freesat V7S on those sats to see how they well deal with key updating as the non-Combo Freesat V8s is now on it's way back to the supplier because of sensitivity and repeatability issues (reported this in the other thread).

One of the my Openbox SX6 died after a lightning strike to cable tv main installation from the building near mine.......and now I need cheap replacement....

Someone tried with Freesat V8 Golden to make snapshots with Sat2IP option on PC? Is easy to setup, fast and user friendly to catch snapshots in that way, like with AirTivi+ on SX6, and can you with Sat2IP watch 4:2:2 feeds like with AirTivi+ from SX6?

If someone have Freesat V8 Super I will too much appreciate his answer to, I can not see thread named to that receiver and need to ask generally about Freesat V8, because I have interest more for V8 Super because lnb loopthrough. Someone also tried to connect TBS pc card to loop and is workig ok? Thanks
