80cm dish with Phillips Gold box reciever picking up European programmes on Hotbird 13E

Hi,
I am using a 60cm fixed dish receiving Hotbird 13E european programmes. Can I add another LNB to receive Freesat. I am currently using a Phillips Gold Box purchased in Italy, will I need to change this.
Please advise.

The dish is too small for an offset bracket and LNb some 15° apart. An 80cm -90cm would be ok. Most receivers will be ok for reception of freesat but you won't get the freesat EPG of course.

Thanks Satelliteman,
On checking the fixed dish is 80 cms but is a diamond (shape)type that's used in Italy and I am told gives better reception. It also has twin LNBs used for Hotbird when I lived in Italy.
Can you pls recommend the LNB s I will need and a receiver that will be ok for Hotbird and Freesat HD broadcasts. Best regards.

Sounds like you might be using a Fracarro Penta 85 dish Alan. Not sure whether they make an offset LNB holder for it, will have a scout about and see if there is a universal one which will cover the 15 degrees you require for those two satellites..:)

Can't help on the HD receivers I'm afraid, as I have only used a couple.:)

One of these should do it. They affix to the focal LNB, so you have to make sure that there is sufficient space. ( longer neck LNB needed).

They are cheap and quite nasty, but do the job for any dish.

I got one off ebay for about a tenner.
