French digital with a Philex box

I have a Philex box (28207RF) with a card slot in the front. Can I insert a card and use this to pick up the French channels (either Fransat or TNT)? I'm currently only getting the handful of free channels on AB3 (5W).

I ask because 1. there's no mention of a card reader in the manual and 2. peering in through the slot I have a funny feeling it's empty - ie Philex use the same casing for all their models and this one just doesn't have a reader fitted.

So, is there a card reader in there, and if so, can I get a card somewhere?

If there's no card reader, can I put one in myself or would it be less trouble to buy a new box? Will an old Sky box work or are they proprietary?

So many questions, I know, but wife's getting impatient. :)

Fransat cards only work in proprietry Fransat receivers and in Cristor boxes supported by the KYNG team.

Fransats AESKey is not public which is why these cards only work in the above receivers :(

The same can be said about TNTSat cards. They only work in their proprietry boxes and in Linux receivers running either OSCam or Hypercamd emus.

With regard to Linux boxes and the TNTSat card, this is only the case until they change the AESKey. The screen will then go black again until the AESKey is made public again.

Thanks for that, I should have guessed. Why they should make it so difficult to pick up something that's free is somewhat baffling. At least SECAM is over.
