From motor to multi LNB?

Sky minidish and Sky + HD 250gig Anytime+ box with full ish appart from sports and movies, Dreambox DM500s clone (Pli Jade3 max var F/W), Motorised 1.1Meter Dish

Hi guys

From my earlier posts you may know I have a 1.1M dish and a H&H craplin motor.

I`m getting a bit board with the time it takes to change birds and was thinking of ditching the motor and going down the multi LNB route.

I have a south facing wall I can mount the 1.1M on but was wondering how many LNB could I stick up and what could I expect to get from east to west with the dish pointing either due south or on 1 west?

At the moment I watch a bit on 1west, a bit on 13 and a bit on 19, not forgetting the tripe on 28 but I have a minidish for 28
 
Leave your 1.1M dish with H&H motor, but instead of your minidish install toroidal antenna (take T90 not T55). Than you will still be able to enjoy H-H motorized antenna and at the same time get signals from stationary LNBs on toroidal. T90 can be tuned to 28,2*E-1*W, and everything between, after some mods it is even possible 28,2*E-30*W
 
About 6 or 7 lnbs in total. Focussed on 1w, 19e should be doable, but 28e very marginal. It really is a matter of having a play for an hour or two ans seeing what works. A standard dish is only good for 20 degrees or so, for more you need a torroidal .

I`ve thought about that because I could have kept the motor for another box but SWMBO wont allow another dish and I reccon the tramp* out back would complain to the council if another dish popped up, even if it was replacing the minidish *(I posted on here a while back about her complaining that my satellite dish was wiping her tv out lolol)

I think I could work with 6 or 7 LNB lol

28 is not a problem as it`s fed by the minidish so I dont mind starting at 19E and working my way west

With 1W as the focus would I get 9 and 10E on one LNB or would that not work?
 
On that dish size I would say 5w,1w<focus LNB,4.8e,9e&10e,13e & 19e is well possible.
 
Yes, I'd agree, but focus on 4.8e not 1w, might still be touch and go space wise, possible that the alps or the inverto multi connect lnb would be needed for sone sats.

Whatever way you look at it, it's a bit of fun and a challenge at the same time, plus a good deal of trial and error along the way.
 
If motor is working just let it be. Make multifeed on motorized antenna.
