Hi all,
My DB has the 1.4 version of FSP software. Does anyone know of a HowTo to upgrade this to 1.6? I need to do this to allow me to run the Gemini images!
(Previously this has just "happened" as a consequence of installing a new image in flash)

I have 1.09.1 CVS in internal flash, with Hydra Phoenix & Ned Kelly on USB stick managed by FW Pro 5.

Did you install an image on flash that normally would upgrade your fp and it didn't?

The last image I had in flash was the Hydra Posiden (from when it came out to about a week ago!).
Then I installed the 109 CVS version (as recommended here!).
Now I find that I cannot run any of the gemini images as they require FP 1.6.

So I guess that I need to find an image that will upgrade the FP, and put that in flash, let it upgrade the FP, then restore my current setup. It seems like a lot of hassle for what should be a simple copy this file here and run that script type operation.

I'll research further.
 
Hi, i am new on this forum, in search of some english forums related on dreambox i ended here, and i like it...so my first question will be about front processor.I got a 1.05 fp on my dreambox and i would like to upgrade it to 1.06 but can somebody tell me the procedure so i dont mess something up...i know that it comes with new image in flash, but when will he start upgrading, does he upgrade it in the process of flashing or...Do i put the image same way, with dream-up or...

Sorry for my poor English... :)
 
Install one of the latest images and it will upgrade it's self.
Musicbobs latest cvs would be a good place to start.
 
Yes, Sonic1 is correct. Use that image. FP1.6 upgrade is prompted (well, it insists upon it, IIRC)

You need the DMM beta 109.1d version available from many places including IHAD.

Carefull though, as I don't know of any way of going back!?! (errr, not tried actually...)
 
Ok thanks guys, i will try it out and let you know how it went...
 
I used the 109-1d-DaVinci-Reload in Flash and it updated the processor. Not really sure what difference it makes though. :)

...except that you CAN'T run the gemini images without doing the FP software first. FWIW I tried and the DB just hangs:(
 
Ok i put the new MusicBob in flash and it went very good, it upgraded my FP to 1.06 with no problems...and new gemini 220 on usb is up n running...thanks for all your help.
 
Yes, it's a hard-dependancy just like kernel revision. The readme normally specifies both requirements, but not always.

Most current releases are on 1.09_1d/FP1.06.
