FTP issues

I use to be able to access my 500s via ftp through my router using DCC, now I keep getting a error message "10057 socket not connected"

I have tried connecting the DB to my PC running Vista using a spare eithernet cable I had with my new router, I still keep getting the above error message!!!!! I have pinged the DB ip address from my laptop, so im guessing the eithernet cable must be OK?. Read somewhere you need a crossover cable?

Can anyone help? would be nice to start from over from scratch.

You only need a crossover cable if you are not connecting through a router as you are connecting through a router this does not apply

The only thing that is wrong is that the ip address for the Dreambox in the DCC settings does not match the actual ip address of your Box. Go into the network settings on the Dreambox, and make sure the ip address showing here is the same on DCC. Or use DCC to search for it, slower though
