ftv card

Leave it in the box for 48 hours, it may just have missed an authorisation update. This is the "Stay Alive" instruction sent out to every card regularly.
 
did that it just has the errow message 02, is there any way i can do it my self? i've got an elvis programmer it not that i want sky1 or anything like that just the ftv channels.
oh by the way what happend to the enginers menue sur/4 01 it dont work any more!?
 
No chance of re-activating it with a programmer, no. Reboot the box as nothing has happened to the engineers code.
 
A bit off topic but related.

Can a freesat card that is registered to a particular box be moved to a different box without the need to re-register it?

Yes, should work in any box, mine does.

Yes mine too, but see my post re Film Four to find out that it's still tied to the original digibox serial no :)
 
Film Four won't be an issue as its just for a freessat card.
 
Help needed pleeeeease!

I've been given a recently purchased sky ftv card by someone who bought it then left the country before trying it in the UK.
I also live off-shore & thought it should initialize it I put it in may Pace digibox & leave it on overnight.
But it comes up "Card is not authorized" (or maybe it was "not activated", I forget). I get the FTA, but not the ITV ftv channels. (I assume it should get itv1, ch4, etc)
On the Sky letter with the card, it says to just leave the card in for a couple of hours.
Do you think the problem is that it has been a couple of months since it was purchased & the first attempt to use it ?
- The problem is that I don't know if I can 'phone Sky as I was not the person who subscribed & I don't live in the UK.

Maybe someone out there could give Sky a ring for me if I give you the serial number ??

Leave the card in the box and wait a couple of days. If its been out of use for a couple of months its missed its "stay alive" authorisations. It should wake up eventually.

If its not been used at all it will need activating.
 
Unfortunately the card is useless.
If the message you see on screen is "This card is not authorized, call the broadcaster" this means the card has either never been activated or has been switched off by Sky.
If the message says"Call to upgrade your package to receive this channel" then your card has missed an update and will come back to life if left in the box overnight.
I'm in Italy and have 2 cards. I only need one. PM me and maybe we can come to an arrangement.

I would like to try to get the card authorized if possible. Do you know if I need the full address & phone number of the person who applied for the card or can I just ask someone in the UK to phone Sky & ask them to switch it on ? I assume that the digibox doesn't need to be connected to a phone line for this.
 
It will have to be the person who ordered the card because he/she will be asked for address details, phone no. etc to confirm who they are.This person will also have to give the Sky operator your digibox details.

Sorry to hijack- can a card activated in a $ky box then be used in a Dreambox (for FTA channels inc itv & ch4)?

Once activated it will work in ANY digibox.

So, résumé (for anyone reading this in the same situation):

A sky card that hasn't been authorized needs to be left in a digibox on a sky channel and then:
someone from a UK phone (I wonder if an internet IP phone would fool them ?) needs to phone Sky with the card details AND the digibox details AND the address & name of the original subscriber.

I'll see what I can do ! :D
 
Remember that if you use it in a dreambow, it will need to go back into a sky box regularly otherwise it will miss its "stay alive " authorisations.
