None of my computers were affected, none of my friend's & family's computers were affected, so it never existed, would have been cool to see the world collapse due to one tiny error on a system's date.... :-rofl2

My old 486 went back to 1/1/1984 (or around then) instead of 1/1/00, didn't affect me at all as I had stopped using it long before then, I was just trying it out to see if it was affected.

So if we had had nuclear power stations being monitored by 486s then they might have jumped back in time…

The millennium bug did exist, just no one was using systems old enough to be affected by it (of if they were they had been patched), and anyone who was using systems old enough to be affected weren't using them in a date-critical environment.

[FONT=&quot]Actually, I spent nearly ten years of my life on-and-off addressing the problem BEFORE it could happen. Analysing, testing, checking results, bug-fixing etc, and so did hundreds of thousands of my colleagues just in the UK alone. Thousands of millions of pounds were spent. There were thousands of bugs in code that were identified and fixed just in the small area that I was involved with, and there were STILL failures on the night, but thankfully nothing that the dumb-ass media could stick on the front page such as some malfunctioning traffic lights that caused air traffic control to accidentally land a 747 on a nuclear power plant....

Sorry, sore point... :-bash[/FONT]
