Feb 28, 2021 #5 Why would they use a satellite at the end of it's service life , G14 was launched back in 2005, it's at the end of it's 15 year life span. They might be putting it in a parking orbit to hold on to that spot for a different bird. G14 was replaced by G30 back in July of 2020.
