Starting here first, as it might be either Google or the Android

The other halfs tablet refused to go online yesterday, but other devices in the home and office connected fine so after interrgating it for model/firmware etc, it suggested an upgrade to the latest lollipop, but one page did mention that earlier upgrades had been set to 'manual only' or something similar. The new software was apparently already inside and just required approval.

Anyhow, after 25 minutesof seeing the little green android sign and progress bar the unit turned back on , with a suggestion all was OK and would I like the Google calendar as it was something useful to have. Ticked yes and it is now installed on the front page.

Problem is, the google bookmarks (a couple of hundred or so) have gone walkabout. I cant find them anywhere and SWMBO is on the warpath, blaming me - again.

Having read a couple of links, some have had similar, and these can magically appear at a later , unknown time, due to syncing with the online service . Are bookmarks stored on the cloud ?

She does have a google account and it may be fine in the morning, but is there any way the upgrade has deleted these ? Google app confirms no changes since Aug 20th by the way.

Thanks in advance.

Yes the bookmarks and settings are all stored in the cloud and resync over a period of time regardless of which device you connect, as long as it has Google Chrome, and you allow the synchronization but you could just wind her up and tell her it is her fault for having bookmarked links connecting to pages of pictures of half naked nubile young bodybuilders:rolleyes:

I think I'll stay low until the bookmarks repopulate, if there was any inkling that I knew what she stores on the thing.........
