guys downloaded gemini 2.2 on db 7020
i have only common interface
any other cams to download

Hmmm, press blue button, enable auto cam, goto addons, download and install, cam, chose newcamd 6.1 probably to start off with. then go back to the download list, cam config, newcamd 6.0 will do. then download the newcamd keys. back to the blue panel screen, goto auot cam setup, and set your new newcamd cam as the default, and a whole selection of channels should open up for you know on hotbird.

Just press the blue button.Then into Addons. Then to download & Install. Then into cam, then highlight camd3.791 & press ok. Are you sure you want to install this, press green button for yes. It will tell you then that addon was successfull, then press green button for ok. It will then start the cam for you.
To see if cam is selected press blue button & on current cam it should read camd 3.791. If Common interface is still there press ok on the highlighted current cam and you should see camd 3.791 in the list. Highlight it and press ok. Thats your cam installed now.
You will now need to load keys. Probally by ftp. If you need help come back again and I will explain how to put these in if you dont know how to.

Usually it means that your network is not working. Sometimes I get this too, but a reboot usually sorts this out. Make sure you have put the correct network settings in the expert panel. Check to see with your browser if you can connect to the box.

If you never before managed to connect the dreambox to the internet, you got to sort this out first.
 
I would go along with T_G with that your connection with interner to dreambox not working.
So Go to
Menu. Set Up. Expert set up. Communications set up.
Uncheck box DHCP
Put in your Ip. eg. 192.168.1.24
Netmask. 255.255.255.0
Type. Lan
Nameserver. 192.168.1.1
gateway. 192.168.1.1
Check box X enable network
Port 80
Press green button to save.

Check your firewall settings to allow you to connect to dreambox.as well.
 
yes i downloaded the Newcamd
guys do you have multivision channels on gemini
I donot for some reason .

have you downloaded the keys, and are you using newcamd as your default emu, or have you associated newcamd with that particular provider? it will say in the bottom of your screen when you're on a particular channel which cam you're using.
 
ahhh, well then, did you have an up to date satellites.xml file when you did the transponder scan? if not you can either re scan, or add the transponder for multivision manually. you can the details for it at lyngsat.com
 
still no new channels after manual scaning.

Question what about the usb memory stick , do i need to keep it stick to DB
all times or its function finished......may be that is the reason i am not getting more channels

If I remember correctly you have loaded the image into the Dreambox not the USB stick.

If that is that case you can remove it.

Or to test this - shut down the box - remove it and restart the box - if it works you don't need the USB stick.

Have you selected an CAM to use using the blue button?

Use the blue button > in the top option use the right and left buttons on the remote to select the CAM you want (try Newcamd) > press green button and that will set the default CAM for all channels.

the multivision channels actually not on my list in the hotbird list.
by the way i installed pi image today.
still not getting multivision on my list......?
i put the correct frequencies and polarity, symbol rate
there are things like
1- use ONIT
2-use BAT
3-Only free
4-Network search

i donot know what to do with them , shall i tick them or leave them

so i donot know what to do to get multivision and or france 1,2,3 at least
