Gemini project & CCcam Dreambox only ?

Just quick question. I currently have a Dreambox running Gemini project with CCcam but am considering purchasing another linux based sat receiver.

Does Gemini Project and CCcam only work with a dreambox or can I use them with any linux sat receiver ?

There are versions available that have been modded to work on other receivers :D

I have had Gemini on my old IPbox 200S, and both my TM500 & TM600 :-righton

Don't know what the fuss is though. I had it on my DM500 and the voice kept going out of synch with the picture, put EDG Nemesis 4.4 and its all fine now.

I personally wouldn't bother with Gemini, as there's better images out there that work a lot better and aren't as bloody boring as Gemini.

And the plus side it won't wreck your box as Gemini can have a tendency to do 'O'-red
 
There are many Linux based receivers out there - but do your homework and look through the forums to see how much trouble people are having with them and how long it takes for bugs to get fixed. This is where the dreamboxes are best; they are well supported.
Beware of clone dreamboxes as they will get bricked by Gemini.
In the end you get what you pay for!!!!
