After the sad demise of Gene Pitney his family decided they wanted to bring his body back to America for burial.

When they contacted the funeral directors they were asked what type of coffin they would like. The family discussed the matter and decided that they would like it made out of oak. The funeral directors then said that it would take 6 weeks.

6 weeks? Couldn’t it be done quicker? Well, not in oak but it would only be 24 hours from balsa.

LOL, no disrespect to Gene, one of my favourite singers in those days, but that was good. :)

As mentioned, on another board, sick not funny.
I disagree. It doesn't disrespect the man, whose songs I also enoyed at the time, but is a clever pun. If I had thought otherwise I wouldn't have posted it.

I could almost imagine him having a laugh at it himself. I certainly creased up when I first heard it.
