I hope there is somebody who can help me.
I shutdown my dm800 as normal, when I booted it backup and it just displayed Dream Multimedia Error! in the Oled display and the red led flashes. It is a genuine box and I have tried to flash it with a Serial Null Modem cable with Dreamup V1.3.3.8 with no success, it stops after uploading flash-loader it sits there saying upload complete, waiting for acknowledge...I have tried holding the Standby button in to get an IP address, all this does is stop the led flashing.
It had iCVS image on it, and it is about 2 Years old so it is out of Warranty.

What image are you tying to load ?
Is that the latest dreamup ?
Have you added the latest SS ?

Thanks for your reply.
I am trying to load iCVS image but I don't get to that stage using the latest DreamUp 1.3.3.8
How do I load the lastest SS? because I can't talk to the box
Is there a piece of software to just load the SS?
I think that SS is corrupt.
Any help would be good before I send it to Dream, as it is out of warranty

I have sent it back to Dream for repair, but I haven't had a price yet, hopefully it not going to be too expensive!

Just a quick update. I have got my Dm800 back from Dream fixed for FREE! They repaired it under warranty, my box is 2 years old, but they still repaired it for nothing. You won't get service like that with a clone box.:D

Makes a change for Dream .

Maybe they are finaly listening to their customers instead of treating them with contempt like they used to 'O'-red

I've only let them try to take me for a w**ker once, with my old DM7020Si, never again. I ended up having to pay for the repair on a 10 month old box, because those w**kers wouldn't honour their warrenty because i fitted the hard drive into it myself. The fault was on the network card, so hows the hard drive got anything to do with that ?

And before you state i still have a Dreambox, its a clone, and the way i see it, it can completely fail three times before it costs the same price as one from Dream and then the likelyhood is that i can jtag it back to life. Dream have lost me as a customer for good.

Either way though even if my DM800 was genuine, its still no where near as good as my Vu+ which makes me feel a whole lot better :D
