I have a get 10 dehumidifier, the other day a new light came on, and as it goes back to 2006 I don't have the book, so I googled it, and found that there has been a product recall!

Since the product has been causing house fires.

I was able to return it to wicks as it was closer to me (did not buy it from there) and they gave me £79.99 refund. (Not bad as I had no box or receipt)

Now ordered a new one!
 
Glad you got your money back and more importantly didn't suffer any fires etc..

I wonder what will happen to all the duff units, probably repair and sell them cheap as refurbished on an aution site ?

They still make them, it just the ones from 06 to 08 that over heats, I can say mine has got very very hot once or twice, I was going to use it in my other house, and leave it running, glad I googled it now.
 
Lucky guy mate, glad you found out about the very real risk that it posed.
