Getting 2 sats 3° apart

What is the smallest size dish that can get 2 satellites spaced about 3° apart (28.2E and 31.5E, specifically)? Can it be done on a 80cm dish, or only on a 1m? I made some example calculations on different sized dishes with 13E and 19.2E, roughly 6° apart:

Dish----LNB Spacing------spacing per degree
1m ----- 10.2cm---------1.6cm
80cm-----7cm-----------1.1cm
60cm-----6cm-----------0.9cm

It's not the most scientific experiment, but gives a rough idea of how larger dishes can allow for 2 satellites with a close separation, like 3° apart, can be got, while on smaller dishes wouldn't be possible.

based on these measurements, I figure to get 2 sats that are 3° apart on a 1m dish, the LNB's would need about 5cm seperation, which is kind of already pushing it, regarding the physical size of the LNB's. I know there's some narrow LNB's (made by ALPS?), maybe I'll look into them eventually, but then I'll need a modified holder, etc.

Anyway, has anyone gotten 2 sats with 3° separation on a 80cm dish?
That's what I'd really like to know....if it's possible at all.... thanks.

Depends on your location mate, up here in sunny Central Scotland you can get 3 degree spacing on a 1 meter with normal 40mm LNB's with half decent neck lengths & on Triax TD88, which is really a 90cm dish size wise you can manage it with two 23mm neck Inverto LNB's.

It all depends on the dish size. Normally for 3-4 deg you need small neck LNBs. The bigger the dish, the further apart the LNBs for the same arc spacing. Therefore 1m+ you may just get away wirth regular LNBs. I tried 4 deg on a 80cm, it was too close. 1m was just ok.

Thanks, those are some interesting solutions. Having a mono-block is kind of tricky, because I have another dish with 2 sats, so 4 individual LNB's fit nicely into a DiSEqC 1.0 switch. If I bring in a mono-block, then I'll have to move to a DiSEqC 1.1 switch and make things a little more complicated. Maybe some narrow LNB's like those Inverto ones could be a good option. Altho 31.5E is a bit of a fringe sat for me, and I just read those narrow LNB's aren't that sensitive.

How about an oval dish, like Visiosat? Would that help to widen the space between LNB's?
 
There are a few LNBs that are quite small, yet not extra narrow like the Inverto-multiconnect or Alps. The Inverto Black Pro singles have a fairly small head, also there is a Sharp one too the BS1R9EL100A. I have used both of these, and they don't seem to suffer signal problems like the extra narrow ones do. Another really cheap alternative is a Zinwell Sky quad LNB, not meant for non-elliptcal dishes, but work not too badly on standard dishes.
