Hi

I have a problem where I'm not sure if my mount pole is plumb and I believe its causing me problems.

On Western satellites I get a better signal by moving the elevation up slightly, while for Eastern satellites moving it down slightly helps.

What does this indicate about my pole? According to Bubble Level (app for Android) it is fine, but with the above I doubt the 100% accuracy of this.

Which way does the problem suggest my pole needs slightly moving?

Thanks

It might not be your pole, although you do need your pole to be both plumb, and sturdy enough to take the weight of dish, and motor, as well as handle bad weather, especially high winds.
There is a diagram, to show satellite arc problems.

Can you please post some pictures, of your satellite dish, and explain how you set it up.
Are you using USALS?

Could just be something as simple as moving the motor+dish VERY slightly clockwise around the pole?

First, check the pole is level. Don't use phone apps, they need to be referenced correctly first... and I guess way inaccurate. Use a spirit level. You can get a small magnetic scaffolds level that is ideal for this.

Photos will help us help you better.

One from the side and one from the back if possible.

And is this a small dish (under 2 meters) or a larger one?

Is it a roof mount, wall mount or ground mount?
