Getting TVBS on Motorised Digital System

I understand that subscribers to TVBS are usually sold a receiver along with their subscriptions. Instead can I subscribe simply by paying for their smartcard only and use it via a standard CAM to the CI.

If this is possible:

Which CAM will this be?
Will the motorised system know how to get the signal?
