GIBERTINI 1.5 or ANDREWS 1.8 ?

Hi everybody!
would upgrade my system from a 1.2 steel dish to a better one.
I'm just seeking precious advices before spending money.
I am deciding if it's better buying a GIBERTINI OFFSET 1.5 or a ANDREWS 1.8.
Then I need useful suggestions about the best LNB and feedhorn to get the most out of my system and get much channels as possible.
I live in the South of Italy, in Bari, and have menaged many times to get Astra 2D 28.2 but nothing to do with my 1.2 -
Since I work in an airport and have much interest in English TV, it would be super get BBC / ITV / C4 / Five etc...

Option one for the gibertini 1.5 and motorisation

Option 2, for the andrew 1.8 with HD actuator and complete LNB

Please tell me what's best.

The Andrews is the better of the two dishes you mention (plus it's larger) and will produce more signal from any given satellite, although I'm not sure whether it will be enough to bring in Astra 2D channels from your location. Also, you need a very substantial ground mount for one of them, they are very big and very heavy, plus quite hard work to align without a meter.

You probably wont find a polarmount for the Andrews 1.8m so it would have to be fixed.

It is a satellite superstore polarmount conversion, looks like the 1.2 version with a bolt on adapter frame.

Well, concerning the mount, i'm going to fix it on a sort of small terrace on the roof.(maybe the disadvantage can be that it's fairly high and sometimes windy):
there's a tripod fixed and bolted to the ground plus a cement base. do you think it is going to be firmly blocked??

i thought someone had mentioned on the forum that a company in germany makes them for the 1.8 and even 2.4m, sure i had read it in this section somewhere

Yes you are correct wod, its a company called apexsat.

Not cheap though @ 4012 Euros!!! But you do get a 24" actuator, 30 meters of cable and a professional controller box

1.8m wont work in far southern Italy - one of our members has tried a 3m in central southern italy and the result was no 2D! You will probably be looking at 4 or 5m to get Astra 2D as you are in an extremely poor signal area.
