Nice clear day here, tried everything but no sign of MBC, been watching camel racing on dubia sports, very entertaining!
not wishing to burst anyone's bubble or teach grandma to suck eggs but have you considered the possibility that this time you have set up on 13 East by accident...........O-no

Tell us some other channels you can see

can't get at tv but when the dish moves 2 degrees to right(as viewed from behind) after watching sky on 28.2E i am confident it is 26e!In any case,my dream 600 tells me it is 26E,and i know where 13E is.

The reason why I asked about those two is that their signal levels give an indication as to how close you are to getting the missing MBC tp.

EDIT .... just noticed... to tweak for MBC's tp and without a decent meter.. you have to have a TV at the dish site... with meter bars on and the channel already programmed in and really closely observe the signal quality levels, your arc has to be 100% to start with too.. it is that fiddly at that size dish... we just get used to it...

Like I said not wishing to insult anyone's intelligence but that is something that cannot be gleaned from a couple of posts and most people have in their time made that kind of mistake me included:p

Nice clear day here again (2 in a row,it's a heat wave,water shortages ahead!),looking at kuwait 2 on 12523 H :- SNR 75% ,AGC 88% and BER hovering about 4000.

Dubai one on 12130 V :- SNR 78% ,AGC 85% BER about 400

As i understand it the signal to noise ratio is what most people call quality %?

I have no idea what BER is,i could also do with an explanation on what the symbol rate and FEC are for!?

BER is just Bit Error Rate ... SR & FEC are not an issue usually unless it's a very low SR and the box is not very capable at low SR levels.

Are those readings off the stb... not the TM then... out of the two stbs I think the TM is the more sensitive which you're best with for that job at least to tweak it..

With those figures you sound as though you are doing well and could get the MBC... like I said.. only with some delicate tweaking.

what is the break up point on that box?

are you getting better signals than before you fitted the Penta?

Way better with the penta 85,can get the dubia channels even with a bit of cloud. How ironic that after such a rainy summer we have had only fine weather since it came, i could do with some rain to test it.

Only got the one STB,figures are from that,i was using a cheap inline SLX sat meter to tune but have removed this as i read it might slightly lower signal, the technomate is my motor.

Picture seems to break up around 68%,i use dubai sports to fine tune the dish, this seems to one of the weaker signals i can recieve.

reminds my of the good old days using a wet tea towel and moving a dish i found in a skip by hand to get analogue channels.

Going out soon will be back tomorrow evening, thanks for all the help folks!

The sensitivity of the receiver might be the limiting factor, not sure how that does... ...anyway, the Penta 85 has already beaten the Triax 90...

I think to get MBC he would may have been better off getting a Gilbertini 1M dish and wall mounting on a 24 or 36" T&K just to ensure a better signal.
