I've just had a can of the most vilest drink ever. Ginger beer must be an acquired taste as it is so bitter and makes me feel like heaving.

Can anyone on here honestly say they like it?

It depends on the recipe.

Cheap stuff is just peppery with sugary carbonated water. The proper stuff is brewed just like real beer and has real body. The ginger helps to cut through your thirst so that you get rid of the claggy feeling at the back of your throat.

Ive heard The Crabbies Alcoholic Ginger Beer seems to be the new 'in-vogue' drink at the moment. It's supposed to be like the new Magners I probably wont like it if it tastes anything like ginger beer has anybody tried it?

Mmm lovely stuff. I drink a pint with my dinner twice a week, with pintsof dandelion & burdock two other nights :D

Yes, proper Ginger Beer can be lovely, haven't tried Crabbies, will get some to try.:)

Oh yes. its more like a beer flavoured with ginger. Nothing like fizzy pop gb.

I had a couple of cans not long back, it was in a dark brown can with tan writing cant for the life of me remember what it was called but it had a right bite to it

if it tastes like beer then I'll give it a try and see!!

Old Jamaica is one of the more popular brands.

I have just had four Crabbies indeed this is the third week I have indulged. I like it very much, I have tried it with lemon but that gets rid of the natural zing on your tongue from the ginger, just with ice, that is enough. The beer has gone up 25 pence in our club and a pint of Guinness is £2.75 and Lager the same. Crabbies is £2.45 and it is very nice to drink

Have to say that if it's in a can it's not proper ginger beer. I've no idea wht this Crabbies stuff comes in but I'd be surprised if it wasn't a bottle.

(Cowers pensively waiting to be surprised...)

widely available through supermarkets - even our Tesco which has a terrible choice of beers carries it.
