Please let me introduce myself...................I am a kid from Sydney.

Just on the verge of buying either the DM800HD or the Octagon HD.

I'm old whiz from way back with DM500's and 600's, Octagon is a new to me.

Does the Octagon run on LINUX?

Which one should I buy in this depressed economic state??

Any input would be appreciated.

Hi Phillip, welcome to the forum :)

Yes, the Octagon Hd uses Linux. It's your choice which receiver to go for - plenty of specs online to make comparisons. If you're happy with Dreamboxes you may wish to stick with them. I suppose these days it really comes down to hard cash, which box gives the best VFM.

I think there is an East Anglia in Tasmania, that little island blip at the bottom of Australia, famous for its six toed people (inbreeding), apples and hydro-electricity.

Seriously, I've been to Tasmania and it is great! Plus, I can't recall an East Anglia there as well...
