Good night for auroral activity

Solar levels are very high atm & greenish auroral glows are being reported as far south as Anglesey!.

Of course its sleeting here & we have 100% cloud cover!

They where visible most of the evening in Helsinki, Finland but with all the light pollution of the city it was hard to get any decent photos.

Very nice! I saw my lights up in North Sweden (Kiruna) back in December - it was very cool! (And very cold)

They may be impressive but were taken with special fllters and lenses, were yours?

Well, yes true, mine where taken with a decent point and shoot type camera rather then a proper large lens DSLR which will always be better but I think the main issue was me taking the photos in the city. Once you move away from the artificial lights the darker skies show up the aurora in so much more detail, even with my camera. I've got a few good shots in Lapland over the recent years.
